Tuition-free education is uncommon in the United States’ Higher Education system, but not so uncommon in other places around the world. Further, one could make the argument that the top schools are found in the United States.

However, if one looks at the output -the graduates- created by these universities, top schools or the smaller less known, one can clearly see either an individual being prepared for life in academia, the perpetuation of the system, or an individual being prepared for a life of employment.

So, where are the innovators? The creators? The entrepreneurs? Where do they come from?

We -at InSB- believe we are missing the point with the current system. We are burdening the students -economically and academically- to the point of preventing their full potential.

If we were to offset the economic burden, in addition to provide the students with truly applicable skills along with real-world opportunities to discover their strengths and passions, we would allow them the opportunity to take greater risks, ultimately opening room for the creation of innovation.

Help us, as we defy all the rules, taking our own risk to encourage others to do so -in AEC.

“In this talk we will explore how the lessons learned from history, biomimicry, crowdfunding, and collaborative consumption can provide new insight into ways to design living, regenerative buildings for everyone in a matter of decades.  By examining the emotional, psychological and financial reasons why we build, you’ll learn new and better arguments for greening your buildings.  We’ll uncover specific, bold ideas for how to retrofit our existing cities and suburbs.  Through case studies, we will discover new tools to design and fund a new wave of innovative buildings.

Using biomimicry and organic principles as a guide, we’ll uncover tangible, deployable lessons we can apply to our built environment.  With specific examples, you’ll learn innovative methods to sell clients on these ideas, while creating healthier buildings in the process.”

Today we launched our crowdfunding campaign on indiegogo, to ensure that waiting for our 501c3 tax exempt status approval -which is now delayed, having applied on 07/2012- does not impede the continued development and launches of our tuition-free higher ed models, and our accessible professional ed programs and micro-courses.

Please consider supporting InSB, and share our campaign with your friends. It is our duty to improve our educational systems, and that of our industry, especially in wanting “TO FOSTER THE NEXT (BEST) AEC+ GENERATION”
